About project:

 

We are looking for a Senior AI Algorithm Developer to join a project delivered for our international client operating in the medical technology and healthcare domain. The client is focused on developing advanced cardiac imaging solutions that support clinical decision-making through innovative AI-powered software and medical imaging technologies.

This role is a great opportunity to work on cutting-edge medical imaging platforms, contributing to the development of AI algorithms used in cardiac analysis, visualization, and measurement workflows. You will be involved in the design, implementation, optimization, and validation of advanced algorithms supporting 3D image processing, deep learning, and computational modeling in a highly specialized healthcare environment.

The project combines artificial intelligence, medical imaging, computational geometry, and software engineering within a multidisciplinary team consisting of product specialists, engineers, clinical experts, and regulatory stakeholders. You will play a key role in delivering robust and accurate solutions that support critical clinical workflows and medical innovation.

 

You will be:
  • developing AI algorithms for advanced cardiac medical imaging platforms,
  • build, maintain, and optimize 3D segmentation, modeling, and measurement pipelines,
  • design, train, validate, and improve deep learning models for medical imaging applications,
  • work with complex medical imaging datasets, including CT, MRI, and echocardiography data,
  • develop and optimize computational geometry algorithms for 3D anatomical modeling and analysis,
  • process, analyze, and manipulate 3D meshes and volumetric imaging data,
  • collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, clinical experts, and regulatory teams,
  • improve algorithm robustness, accuracy, scalability, and performance across different clinical scenarios,
  • contribute to validation activities and support the preparation of evidence required for clinical and regulatory processes,
  • participate in technical discussions related to AI, computer vision, image analysis, and medical software development,
  • support continuous improvement of engineering standards, development practices, and quality processes,
  • depending on seniority, take ownership of technical areas, drive technical decisions, and mentor less experienced team members,

Your profile:
  • strong commercial experience in AI, machine learning, computer vision, or algorithm development roles,
  • strong Python development skills with experience building production-grade software solutions,
  • hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks and model development,
  • strong understanding of computational geometry concepts and practical implementations,
  • experience working with medical imaging technologies and healthcare datasets,
  • practical experience processing and analyzing CT, MRI, echocardiography, or similar medical imaging modalities,
  • strong experience with 3D data processing, segmentation, reconstruction, and mesh handling,
  • experience optimizing and validating algorithms for accuracy, robustness, and performance,
  • hands-on experience with PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, VTK, or similar scientific computing and visualization libraries,
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams,
  • excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders,
  • experience working within Agile software development environments,
  • strong attention to quality, reliability, and scientific rigor,
  • Practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.

  • Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:
  • experience with TypeScript development,
  • exposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-native development practices,
  • experience working within regulated healthcare or medical device environments,
  • familiarity with medical device development standards and healthcare regulatory requirements,
  • experience working with major medical imaging, healthcare technology, or medical device vendors,
  • fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken,
  • German language skills are considered an advantage,
  • Experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work.

  • Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
