Job Description
At the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), we focus on creative answers to today's energy challenges. To support the Technology Transfer Office for the Innovation, Partnering and Outreach (IPO) Directorate, NREL is seeking a Technology Partnership Agreement Specialist to manage and oversee the completion of technical summaries produced at the completion of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA). Through agreements such as the CRADA, NREL partners with industry to develop new technologies that will accelerate the clean energy transformation. Leaders in the clean energy ecosystem come from all over the country, and the world, to work with NREL on some of their most challenging problems.
In this role you will guide researchers through the process of producing the technical summary in conjunction with partners, internal NREL legal and publication organizations, as well as the Department of Energy Golden Field Office, who approves the final technical summary report. As a member of the Technology Transfer Office, you will interface with NREL’s leading researchers in areas such as bioenergy, solar power, wind power, hydrogen, and electric vehicles and learn about a broad spectrum of clean energy research that NREL conducts with our partners.
To successfully accomplish their job duties, the Technology Partnership Agreement Specialist will:
- Administer, facilitate, compile, and seek approval with DOE and Partners of final technical summary reports produced as part of CRADAs.
- Advise management and other staff of obligations related to the CRADA order; compile and analyze data; and maintain historical information.
- Work closely with NREL technical staff, NREL legal office, NREL Communications and Publishing team and the Technology Transfer Office to ensure CRADA technical summary reports meet all requirements established in the DOE order and are approved by the Golden Field office.
- Train researchers on the process to complete the CRADA technical summary report and the collaboration tools used to facilitate completion.
- Track and report status of CRADA technical summary reports to internal stakeholders and DOE.
- Work within statutory requirements, the prime contract between Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC and the DOE and NREL policies, demonstrate judgment in applying principles to develop and secure approval for Cooperative Research and Development Agreement final reports.

Basic QualificationsRelevant Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree or equivalent relevant education/experience. General knowledge and application of technical standards, principles, theories and techniques. Frequent application of industry concepts and principles. General knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field. Skilled in problem solving, written and verbal communication. Ability to use various computer software programs.

Additional Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:
- Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft professional correspondence.
- Excellent organization skills to manage, track and complete a high volume of electronic technical summaries.
- Ability to handle multiple projects under limited supervision, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and be a strong team player with willingness to take initiative.
- Strong customer service, teaming, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use various computer software programs, including good working knowledge of database and data reporting tools, to track progress and facilitate sharing of electronic technical summaries.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to effectively work in an environment in which you will be exposed to confidential information and documents.
- Detail oriented with superior proof-reading skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in a legal and/or contracting organization
- Experience working for government agency(s)
- Excellent computer skills including advanced proficiency with Acrobat; Microsoft Office components Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; cloud collaboration applications Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and One Note

NREL takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.
