Position Summary:
Stratos Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support the government in managing complex software development efforts. In this role, you will oversee and guide the activities of Agile Release Trains (ARTs), ensuring efficient planning, execution, and delivery of software capabilities. This is a critical role is responsible for coordinating with stakeholders, maintaining ART cadence, and providing progress updates to the Government Solution Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide the activities of all Agile Release Trains (ARTs), ensuring alignment with mission objectives and requirements.
  • Manage and prioritize Solution Epics within the Solution Backlog in collaboration with stakeholders to align with program goals.
  • Develop and maintain a Solution Roadmap, ensuring milestones and deliverables are clearly defined and achievable.
  • Ensure all ARTs maintain their cadence and synchronization, enabling consistent planning and delivery cycles.
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning sessions, system demos, and other key ART events to ensure collaboration and transparency across teams.
  • Monitor and report on the status of the Solution and Agile Release Trains, providing daily or weekly updates to the Government Solution Manager.
  • Identify and address risks, dependencies, and impediments to ART progress, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to ART teams, promoting Agile practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other Solution Train stakeholders to ensure successful integration of deliverables into the broader program objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as an Agile Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, or similar role in complex software development environments.
  • Deep understanding of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) principles, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Experience facilitating PI planning sessions, retrospectives, and ART ceremonies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to guide teams and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, or other Agile project management platforms.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess ART performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience with government acquisition processes and delivering solutions in highly regulated environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with government-specific software development processes and regulations.
  • Experience in managing multiple Agile Release Trains within a Solution Train.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and integrating cybersecurity into the development process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex program-level challenges.
