SUMMARY: The Agricultural Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial health of agricultural operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and implementing effective cost control measures. This role involves collaborating with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain monthly Actual vs Budget P&L’s for each division.
- Maintain monthly/annual forecast for So. Farming
- Monthly Financial review meetings
- So Farming “Total Spend” schedule to assist in budgeting process
- Track lemon production/wash analysis by block
- Maintain other historical analysis and schedules as requested by VP of Farming and CEO
- Accounts Payable – code and approve farming related invoices
- Expense analysis – SAGE query, GLYDIMA
- Inventory cultural cost analysis, monthly adjusting entry
- Maintain monthly expense worksheets, such as Edison, purchased water, pump expense, etc
- Tracking of H2A Labor -
- Responsible for maintaining Farming Database
- Responsible for maintaining Analytical Allocations in Sage
- Avocado – maintaining spreadsheets tracking production, revenue accrual by block/ranch
- Lemon Ranch revenue – maintain spreadsheet tracking revenue by block/ranch
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to agricultural operations.
- Maintain inventory – prepaid farming supplies
- Responsible for monthly expense accruals
- Attend weekly farming meetings
- Identify prepaid expense and expense accruals
- Address financial queries and provide expert advice on financial matters.
Other task and projects as requested by VP Grower Services or Management
QualificationsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; 10 years of accounting experience and at least 5 years recent experience in accounting supervision, experience with the monthly financial closing process, knowledge and experience in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, experience in the year-end financial audit process; must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license and maintain a clean DMV record.
- SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and have an excellent understanding of accounting software; must have a financial understanding and budgeting experience; must be able to sort through data and understand the information; knowledge of Citrus Industry preferred; must be able to mentor and coach employees; must be able to collaborate with other individuals, functions and departments to achieve Limoneiras’ business goals; bilingual in Spanish is desirable
