About the Role

Are you looking to lead meaningful, community-focused programming for young people? In this role, you will lead our After School team at East Meadow Elementary (Granby, MA)in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where youth can thrive.

Our 21st Century grant-funded after school program focuses on deeply supportive and enriching environments with energizing small group dynamics. You will serve as the heart of the site - guiding staff, connecting with families, and designing developmentally rich enrichment opportunities that are relevant, real-world and interactive.

What You’ll Do
  • Build & Inspire Your Team: Recruit, hire, and mentor dedicated staff and volunteers; cultivate strong team spirit through reflective, collaborative meetings.
  • Guide Student Success: Design engaging, inclusive enrichment activities aligned with statewide educational visions to engage student’s curiosity and creativity, while providing opportunities for connection and empowerment.
  • Strengthen Community Partnerships: Maintain open communication with families, school leadership, local districts, and other partners to align our shared mission.
  • Drive Continuous Quality: Oversee day-to-day site operations, conduct supportive program observations, gather student feedback, and maintain accurate attendance and grant records. Align all programming with DESE's educational vision in order to meet 21st CCLC grant requirements.
  • Resource Management: Monitor the program budget thoughtfully to ensure resources directly impact the student experience and meet grant requirements.
QualificationsWho You Are
  • Experienced Advocate: You bring a background in youth development, social work, human services, or education (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Supportive Manager: You have experience guiding teams or small groups of staff and know how to foster a positive, resilient work culture.
  • Organized & Adaptable: You excel at balancing priorities in an active environment and are comfortable using technology tools to support organization, collaboration and communication.
Schedule & Terms of Employment
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday during the school year, plus a multi-week summer program (minimum of 400 program hours annually).
  • Hours: Starting at 30 hours per week.
  • Compensation: $29.50/hour

  • The role involves working in a school setting, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Requires physical condition and mental stamina to endure job stress in the performance of duties.

Skills Required

  • Background in youth development, social work, human services, or education
  • Experience guiding teams or small groups of staff and volunteers
  • Comfortable using technology tools for organization, collaboration, and communication
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday during the school year plus a multi-week summer program (minimum 400 program hours annually)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Physical stamina to perform duties in indoor and outdoor school settings and manage job stress
