We are seeking an experienced Aerodynamics CFD Engineer to support vehicle aerodynamic development through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and engineering analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing CFD-ready geometry, generating high-quality computational meshes, performing aerodynamic simulations, analysing results, and providing engineering recommendations that support vehicle design and development.

Position Responsibilties:
  • Develop aerodynamic surfaces from engineering concepts, packaging data, and simplified design inputs
  • Prepare CFD-ready geometry from both production ready CAD and incomplete or evolving CAS models.
  • Clean, simplify, and modify geometry to ensure suitability for CFD analysis.
  • Setting up and optimizing CFD workflow process focusing on Efficiency, Speed and Quality of analysis.
  • Set up, execute, monitor, and troubleshoot aerodynamic CFD simulations.
  • Analyze aerodynamic performance, including drag, lift, flow structures, pressure distributions, and cooling airflow where applicable.
  • Interpret simulation results and provide practical engineering recommendations to improve aerodynamic performance.
  • Modify, morph, and optimize aerodynamic surfaces to support rapid design iterations and concept evaluations.
  • Prepare clear technical reports, visualizations, and presentations to summarize simulation findings and design recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with vehicle design, engineering, and program teams throughout the vehicle development process.
  • Support multiple development studies while maintaining simulation quality, accuracy, and delivery schedules.

Requirements
  • At least 5 years' experience in in automotive aerodynamics and external vehicle CFD simulations.
  • Proficiency with one or more CFD software packages such as STAR-CCM+, PowerFLOW, ANSYS Fluent, or OpenFOAM.
  • Experience using programming languages such as Python, Java, or MATLAB for workflow automation and data processing.
  • Experience preparing CAD and CAS geometry for aerodynamic CFD analysis.
  • Experience in setting up/using parametric morphing models in ANSA.
  • Strong understanding of geometry cleanup, surface preparation, and mesh generation techniques.
  • Experience working with conceptual, incomplete, or continuously evolving vehicle geometry.
  • Ability to interpret CFD results and translate them into clear, actionable engineering recommendations.
  • Familiarity with aerodynamic performance metrics, flow visualization, and post-processing techniques.
  • Experience with CAD software such as CATIA, Alias, Siemens NX, or equivalent is desirable.
  • Knowledge of automated CFD workflows, scripting, or optimization methods is advantageous.
