Advisory Consultant (ERP Implementation & Accounting Systems)
About the Role
Out of the Box Technology (OOTB) is a leading outsourced accounting, advisory, and technology consulting firm helping clients modernize and scale their finance operations.
We are looking for an Advisory Consultant who combines accounting operations knowledge with ERP and systems implementation experience. This is a highly client-facing role focused on improving accounting workflows, implementing financial systems, and supporting integrations across client environments.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems implementations and understands core accounting processes such as month-end close, reporting, reconciliations, and AP/AR workflows.
You will work directly with clients to lead implementations, optimize processes, support integrations, and drive adoption across finance teams. This is a billable consulting role reporting to the VP of Advisory.
What You’ll Do
ERP & Accounting Systems Implementation
- Lead end-to-end implementations of QuickBooks Online and Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES)
- Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable accounting system solutions
- Configure accounting systems, workflows, permissions, reporting structures, and integrations
- Coordinate and support data migrations, validation, testing, and go-live activities
- Lead UAT sessions, client training, onboarding, and post-implementation stabilization
- Troubleshoot implementation issues and recommend practical solutions
Systems Integration & Process Optimization
- Support integrations between accounting systems and operational tools such as:
- Salesforce
- HubSpot
- Bill.com
- Ramp
- Rippling
- ServiceTitan
- Maxio
- Evaluate and improve finance workflows including:
- Month-end close
- AP/AR processes
- Revenue workflows
- Reporting structures
- Approval flows
- Identify inefficiencies, process gaps, and data integrity issues
- Help clients improve visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational scalability
Client Consulting & Project Ownership
- Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Act as a trusted advisor to Controllers, CFOs, and operational leaders
- Communicate technical concepts in a practical, business-friendly way
- Drive projects forward while balancing timelines, priorities, and client expectations
- Create documentation, implementation plans, SOPs, and process workflows
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 2–5 years of experience in ERP implementation, accounting systems consulting, financial systems support, or accounting operations
- Strong understanding of accounting workflows and financial operations
- Experience implementing or supporting accounting/ERP systems
- Client-facing experience with strong communication and project coordination skills
- Comfortable navigating both technical conversations and accounting/process discussions
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Strongly Preferred
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Intuit Enterprise Suite
- Experience with ERP implementations, SaaS integrations, or finance systems optimization
- Background in consulting, advisory, outsourced accounting, or implementation services
- Exposure to API/integration workflows, data mapping, or systems troubleshooting
- Experience working with cross-functional operational systems tied to accounting
- Experience in fast-paced or high-growth client environments

Skills Required
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting, advisory, or ERP/financial systems implementation
- Strong accounting foundation with the ability to assess and explain financial issues
- Experience working with or integrating financial systems (ERP, GL, or related SaaS tools)
- Proven project management and client-facing experience
