As an Advance Software Engineer, you will be responsible for performing software development activities for Next Gen Flight Management System (NGFMS) product, specifically in User Interface, Datalink and Connected FMS functionalities. The successful candidate will be working with a team to develop complex features in compliance with the NGFMS Software Product Line (SPL) architecture. We are seeking someone who brings the right experience and expertise to work on the new feature development and integration using novel techniques and generating innovative solutions. 


You will work out of Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.  No Relocation offered.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment in compliance with DO-178B/C guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of software documentation and user manuals.
  • Software design and development of new features and functions.
  • Implementation of Software Change Requests
  • Assessment of In-Service issues, debug and solve problems
  • Support Verification and Validation team.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • Proficient in Embedded C/C++ Software programming language.
  • 5 years of experience in Avionics or real-time embedded software development.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and build and debug tool chains.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.
  • Willingness to solve the real time challenges pertaining to concurrent execution of processes in a multicore environment
  • Strong background in the design and development of data-driven architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
     

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering in subjects such as Computer Science, Control Systems, Electrical/Electronic or any such equivalent discipline.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and Awareness of Generative AI principles and concepts.
  • Expertise in processes, standards, and system engineering norms, such as DO 178B/C
  • Experience in Avionics or FMS product software development.
  • Experience in developing new features and solving complex issues in User Interface function. 
  • Lab experience testing and verifying requirements of systems and software. 
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
  • Multi-tasking and the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks
  • Diverse thoughts and ideas; and experience teaming and collaboration with global Engineers
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Passion for technology and continuous learning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
