We are seeking an experienced Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) to drive excellence in New Product Introductions (NPI), process improvement, and advanced production quality planning. How You'll Create Possibilities

As the Advanced Quality Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of manufacturing innovation and quality assurance. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Quality Planning & Execution:

    • Lead the pre-launch phase using the 9-step quality process.
    • Identify and baseline critical metrics, including scrap, yield, downtime, and ergonomic factors.
    • Drive Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP) and execute data-driven quality strategies.
  • Metrology & Process Integration:

    • Develop and implement Measurement Control Plans (MCPs) and metrology systems, including CMM and test equipment.
    • Ensure Critical to Quality (CTQ) elements are embedded in manufacturing plans and tools.
    • Partner with suppliers to design, assess, and approve metrology gauges and tooling.
  • New Product Introductions (NPI):

    • Facilitate first-piece qualification, ensuring all parts and assemblies meet design and production standards.
    • Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to implement efficient, cost-effective process changes.
    • Deliver comprehensive quality and metrology plans to plant teams before production begins.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Process Optimization:

    • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives like Production Preparation Process (3P) to optimize workflows and quality.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design right-sized equipment, improve workstation layouts, and standardize work instructions.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to teams across functions.
    • Coordinate supplier approvals, ensuring robust qualification processes for tools and equipment.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field) OR 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing quality experience.
  • Proven expertise in quality assurance and NPI projects within high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in interpreting data for problem-solving in fast-paced operations.
  • Knowledge of CMM programming, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
     

Preferred Skills:

  • 7+ years of quality experience in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Background in metals stamping, plastic injection molding, or high-volume assembly.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers on dimensional control strategies and gage design.
