As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical solutions. Your strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies will ensure that the products developed under your leadership meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. Your proficiency in CAD software and other design tools will enable you to effectively oversee the design process and ensure the delivery of innovative and high-performance mechanical solutions.
You will report directly to our Sr Mechanical Design Engineer Manager, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Imagine, design, development, and optimization of gas turbine engines, focusing on performance, durability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across Honeywell Aerospace to develop integrated solutions that meet evolving customer and regulatory requirements.
- Participate on all phases of product development from conceptual design through detailed design, analysis, testing, certification and production support.
- Refine your engineering talents in a team-based culture by working with innovative products and technologies.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices within the team.
- Improve the world by working on teams that develop modern solutions to complex problems.

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 5+ years of experience using CAD tools for mechanical design.
- 2+ years of experience working with Gas Turbine Engines, and component design of turbomachinery.
- Experience with Gas Turbine Engines, Fan, Compressor, Combustor, Mechanical Components or Turbine modules.
- Understanding of ASME Y14.100 drawing standards including proven application of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), both in preparing designs and product engineering drawings.
- Experience performing tolerance stack ups for assembly and interface definition.
