Job Description:

  • Develop tools, implement physics-based algorithms and methodologies that automate repetitive system modeling analysis tasks and bring productivity benefits.
  • Physics Modeling: Apply deep knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, propulsion principles, and flight mechanics to create high-fidelity aerospace system simulations tools.
  • Maintain regression testing suits to ensure the mathematical accuracy and stability of internal performance codes.
  • Gather tool requirements by collaborating directly with Performance & Operability, aerodynamicists, thermal engineers, and flight test teams.
  • Technical Documentation: Write, review, and publish comprehensive engineering reports detailing model architectures, validation data, and analysis results

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Should possess a Masters/Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Aerospace engineering discipline with 5-8 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of System performance preliminary design tools like NPSS, TMAT, GasTurb or others can be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, gas turbine performance and 1D modeling & simulation of dynamic systems.
  • Knowledge of operation of aircraft propulsion Engine/APU
  • Experience in using any Proprietary/Commercial gas turbine performance simulation software
  • Strong demonstrated skills in MATLAB/Simulink. Specifically, MATLAB coding and  C , C++ , Python, AI/ML frameworks, Simulink modeling expertise are advantageous.
  • System thinking and ability to view a problem from a system's perspective.
  • Familiarity with 6-Sigma and Lean Product development tools and procedures
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as GIT/Clear case/Bit Bucket.
  • Strong English communications skills (Oral & Written)

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, gas turbine performance, and 1D dynamic-system modeling and simulation
  • Knowledge of aircraft propulsion engines and APUs
  • Experience using proprietary or commercial gas turbine performance simulation software
  • Strong MATLAB and Simulink skills, including MATLAB coding and Simulink modeling
  • Knowledge of preliminary system performance design tools such as NPSS, TMAT, or GasTurb
  • Experience with C, C++, Python, or AI/ML frameworks
  • System-thinking ability and a system-level perspective
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Product Development tools and procedures
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, ClearCase, or Bitbucket
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
