  • Apply Design For Manufacture (DFM) principles to redesign parts and assemblies for improved manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Assess product readiness for manufacturing and establish early plans for transition to production
  • Reengineer manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment to increase production capacity and quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, tooling, and engineering teams to provide process and manufacturability feedback during product development.
  • Integrate automation and advanced manufacturing technologies to optimize throughput and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation including BOMs, process flows, and work instructions.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve yield and reduce defects.
  • Mentor and guide manufacturing engineers, fostering technical growth and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
  • Support the scaling of innovative aerospace manufacturing processes across multi-site operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and manufacturing roles in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing
  • Strong expertise in Design For Manufacture (DFM) and concurrent engineering principles for complex parts and assemblies.
  • Proven experience redesigning engineered components and processes to improve manufacturability and production scalability.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with design and tooling teams to provide manufacturability and process feedback during design and development reviews.
  • Hands-on knowledge of advanced manufacturing methods, including CNC machining, additive manufacturing (3D printing), molding, casting, welding (MIG, TIG, laser), laser cutting, and water jet cutting.
  • Skilled at reengineering manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment, with an emphasis on automation integration to increase manufacturing capacity.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Catia, SolidWorks, or equivalent design and prototyping support.
  • Familiarity with CAM software and digital collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to manage production documentation, work with suppliers and contract manufacturers, and ensure quality standards.
  • Leadership and mentoring ability to support and develop manufacturing engineers within the team and across the organization.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • Experience in aerospace or advanced technology manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong understanding of materials science, mechanical systems, and precision manufacturing processes.
  • Background in rapid prototyping, proof of concept development, and scaling novel technologies.
  • Familiarity with automation systems, robotics, and manufacturing process controls.
  • Experience supporting multi-site and international manufacturing operations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in and around shop environments using appropriate PPE
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
