About the Role
We are looking for a high-impact AI/ML Engineer with up to 3-5 years of experience to build next-generation Automotive AI systems, aligned with HARMAN AES’s vision of agentic, cross-domain automotive intelligence.
This role focuses on developing and deploying SLMs (Small Language Models), VLA/VLM models, and AI orchestration layers across edge and cloud environments, enabling intelligent cockpit, ADAS, and connected vehicle experiences.
What You Will Do
1. AI/ML Model Development, Domain Specific Finetuning & Deployment
Develop and optimize SLMs (Small Language Models) for:
In-vehicle conversational AI
Context-aware reasoning and intent handling
Deploy model on Edge Device (CPU, NPU, GPU)
Work with VLM/VLA models for:
Scene understanding, multi-modal perception, and interaction
Implement edge + cloud AI pipelines for real-time inference and hybrid execution
2. Agentic AI & Orchestration Systems
Develop AI orchestration layers:
Intent routing and tool routing
Policy engines, scheduling, and coordination
Cross-domain context management
3. Multi-Modal & Cross-Domain Intelligence
Build systems integrating:
Voice (ASR, TTS, NLU)
Visual perception (VLM/VLA)
Sensor fusion signals
Enable cross-domain intelligence across cockpit, ADAS, and connected services
4. Data, MLOps
Design ML pipelines and MLOps workflows:
Model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring
Ensure compliance with:
Safety, cybersecurity, and automotive standards
5. Collaboration & Engineering Integration
Work with:
Embedded software teams
Cloud/data engineering teams
HMI and system integration teams
Contribute to end-to-end automotive AI platforms and solutions
