Position Overview:

The Advanced Composites Applications Manager, Industrial is responsible for leading Composites One’s advanced materials sales initiatives within an assigned territory. This role drives both new and existing business development, with a focus on innovative composite applications within the industrial sector. The Advanced Composites Applications Manager identifies, develops, and maintains strong relationships with regional industrial manufacturing customers and suppliers.

A critical component of this role is achieving regional sales objectives through proactive management of the advanced composites (AC) sales pipeline and close collaboration across Composites One’s functional teams. Serving as a consultative technical resource, this role supports customers and the sales organization by championing the specification and qualification of Composites One solutions to meet or exceed financial and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and capture new advanced materials sales opportunities within the assigned region.
  • Identify, prioritize, and convert advanced composites targets by creating actionable account development plans.
  • Build, manage, and report on a dynamic advanced composites sales pipeline.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and OEMs through regular engagement, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and trust.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver seamless customer solutions and support.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regional advanced composites business development activities and initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal teams and customers related to product specifications, new applications, and process improvements.
  • Monitor regional market conditions, identify emerging trends, and proactively respond to opportunities and competitive threats.
  • Drive the qualification and specification of Composites One’s advanced composites solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market demands, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and deliver advanced materials training for internal teams as technologies and applications evolve, including but not limited to advanced resins, specialty reinforcements, prepregs, and reinforced thermoplastics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing best-in-class practices across sales, account management, and customer service.

Expected Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical sales or business development role within advanced materials, supporting customer applications in one or more of the following markets: marine, corrosion, infrastructure, transportation, construction, power generation, or defense/ballistics.

  • Hands-on experience and technical understanding of composite processing methods (RTM, SMC, BMC, pultrusion, vacuum bagging, autoclave, OOC, etc.) and applicable regulatory or quality standards (ISO, AS).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Composites, Polymers, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated success in business development, account management, and sales pipeline management within advanced materials or related industries.

  • Strong relationship management, networking, and consultative selling skills in technical environments.

  • Deep technical knowledge of composites and high-performance materials used in manufacturing (e.g., thermoplastics, specialty resins, prepregs, high-strength fibers, and autoclave/press/vacuum bagging techniques).

  • Familiarity with industry trends such as lightweighting, sustainability, advanced manufacturing technologies, and evolving market drivers.
  • Proven ability to analyze customer needs and market data to develop competitive and profitable solutions.

  • Expertise in negotiation, closing complex sales, and influencing decision-makers at various organizational levels.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills with a results-driven mindset and attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling business and technical presentations.

  • Collaborative team player with cross-functional skills, able to drive initiatives and influence without direct authority.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to build trust with internal and external partners.

  • Experience working within a matrixed organization and engaging multiple stakeholder groups to achieve business objectives.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and SharePoint.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience using CRM or similar digital sales pipeline tools.

  • Experience using SAP Sales Cloud.

Location & Travel:

  • Primarily remote with regular travel within the Eastern U.S., including the Northeast, Gulf, and Mid-Atlantic regions
  • Minimal international travel, as needed

      Pre-Employment Requirement: 

      • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check. This requirement is especially critical for safety-sensitive roles.

      The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000. The actual pay will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
