Our Advanced Analytics team is currently seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student for a Data Science Internship. The ideal candidate will be interested in all aspects of analytical product delivery, from project inception, to model design and deployment to production. This is the perfect opportunity for a successful candidate to gain direct data science related experience in a corporate environment while working with an innovative and energetic team that develops analytical tools to help deliver insights to the business.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work on a real-world data science problem which has direct implications to IGS.
Work with relevant business partners and team members to help define project scope and success criteria.
Design, develop and document predictive modelling solution(s) using cutting-edge big data tools and machine learning techniques.
Participate in design sessions with other Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Analysts and Business Partners.
At the conclusion of the internship, present approach and results of project to the team and business partners.
Required Skills:
Programming experience with Python
Pursuing a degree in a highly quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, etc.)
Intermediate knowledge of extracting data from SQL databases.
Possess an innate curiosity about data, modelling and cutting-edge technology
Strong analytical skills and detail oriented.
Self-motivated and high energy.
Flexible and able to adapt to on-going change.
Desired Skills:
Other data analytic languages (R, MATLAB, Julia, etc.)
Machine learning (supervised, unsupervised, hyperparameter optimization)
Experience with PySpark
Intermediate to advanced statistics
Advanced SQL
Data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, matplotlib, seaborn, etc)
Minimum Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Ability to thrive in a driven, passionate, creative, and collaborative environment
Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis. Unfortunately, a current or future need for sponsorship is not supported or available for this position.
Salary Range:
$31,200.00 - $52,000.00*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
