Analyst Engineer
About the Role
The continued refinement and integration of Data is core to the growth and evolution of Invesco’s Distribution ecosystem. This position focuses on analyzing and mapping the data to our systems with a a primary focus on a solid data foundation supporting operational reporting and analytics. The ability to communicate with both business partners and technology professionals is a must.
Responsibilities of the Role
Understand business and data needs across the organization with a focus on Distribution and Marketing, including our internal Sales teams, external Sales teams, Sales Management teams, Marketing teams, Client Servicing team and Operations teams
Analyze and deliver data requirements, including data sourcing research, data mapping across multiple upstream and downstream systems, data validation requirements, and data services requirements
Work closely with Data Management team to implement governance and policy around client data
Build trust and respect, establish relationships, and develop rapport with the business stakeholders and development team(s)
Collaborate with business partners and development team(s) to collect information and perform research and analysis in support of large-scale strategic projects.
Work in cross functional teams and deliver requirements, perform data analysis, recommend process design/improvements, functional design, information architecture & design.
Partner with development team(s) to build out prototypes based on user validation
Prepare for and support user acceptance testing
Prepare all necessary documentation and processes to enable ongoing support of the systems.
Communicate with peers clear, user-friendly terminology (emails, phone, meetings).
Requirements of the Role
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems \ Computer Science is preferred or commensurate relevant work experience
Experience with Agile methodology and working on scrum teams.
Experience with data governance
Good experience in data warehousing concepts
Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
Able to work in a global, multicultural environment
Self-motivated. Capable of working with little or no supervision
Ability to react positively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Able to work independently or as a team player and ramp up on new technologies
Subject matter knowledge in the Financial Industry in areas such as Dealer (dealer, branch, advisor, RIA etc…) is a plus
Enjoy challenging and thought-provoking work and have a strong desire to learn and progress
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business and data analysis and process flows
Minimum 3-5 years of previous financials services/asset management industry experience (nice to have)
Good knowledge of SQL skills.
Solid experience of working in an agile scrum project methodology
Experience in report tools (ie. Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx)
Experience performing data analysis and delivering data requirements
