Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

As an Administrative Staff Supervisor, you will lead the daily operations of park contact stations, oversee customer service and financial operations, and mentor a team dedicated to providing outstanding public service. We Require

  • Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • A combination of professional-level and/or supervisory-related experience may substitute for the education or experience qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s license or obtain one by the time of hire

  • Working various shifts and locations, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to collect revenue in an outdoor climate where temperatures may exceed 100 degrees

Job Contributions

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the park’s contact stations; determine priorities, workflow, and special projects; assign daily workstations, coordinate shift breaks and staff work assignments; utilize designated communication systems for routine and emergency communications; serve as a lead customer service associate as needed

  • Supervise all critical financial functions within the contact stations, including point-of-sale (POS) operations and efficiency, drawer reconciliations, bank deposits, cash handling, annual pass sales, and facility reservations

  • Handle a full range of personnel activities, including scheduling staff, reviewing/approving time sheets, evaluating performance, recruitment, training of staff, and creation of reference materials, recognition, disciplinary actions, and terminations with staff and volunteers; creates training and reference materials. Provide reports and activity updates for management

  • Provide quality customer service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; effectively multitasks while assisting visitors and staff; resolve escalated customer and staff complaints, concerns, and conflicts

  • Educate visitors regarding park rules, regulations, and camping policies; conduct routine patrols of park facilities, including campgrounds and day-use areas; promote visitor awareness, safety, conservation, and compliance

  • Manage data and maintain records; ensure document and procedural compliance standards, prepare reports, create park and event notices, and draft park-related correspondences

  • Research and resolve operational issues involving park staff and visitors; recommend, implement, and communicate changes to processes and procedures; implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of contact station operations. Assist with developing and managing the budget for the assigned area

  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • This position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

  • This role requires the employee to be in the office/field and customer-facing for all hours worked

  • Exerting 20-25 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly

  • Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware: Microsoft Suite and point-of-sale reservation systems, including credit card processors

  • Protective equipment is required as needed to perform the various park-related tasks
