An administrative assistant provides support to ensure efficient operation of an office or department. They perform various administrative tasks, including answering phones, organizing files, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies. They also handle correspondence, assist with project management, and coordinate meetings and events. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for this role.
Essential Responsibilities
• Duties include general clerical, reception, project-based work, and to project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction
. • Answer telephones and transfer to appropriate staff member • Take detailed phone messages and forward to appropriate staff member
• Create and modify documents with MS Office tools • Perform general clerical duties to include, but not be limited to the following: photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing • Assist with ordering office supplies as needed • Coordinate and maintain key records of office personnel, such as cell phone number and company credit card numbers • Set-up and coordinate meeting spaces and attendee list as may be required
• Support staff in assigned project-based work
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of previous clerical service Preferred Qualifications Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements
• Computer skills.
• Oral and written communication skills

• Ability to understand and follow directions. Working & Environmental Conditions Working Conditions
• Temperature controlled working environment. Some outside activities may be required
. • This position may travel out-of-town to attend training and meetings.
• Typical office environment: may experience minor discomfort from extensive use of a computer display and keyboard; travel between buildings on campus and between campuses.
Physical Requirements
• Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
• Sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
• Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
