Job Description

• Responsibility includes the management of Active Directory (all related core services), ADFS and Certificate Management, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) and other cloud services

• Develop and maintain technical documents, operational procedures, and security standards.

• Highlight and implement opportunities to mature self-service and automation capabilities across the environment enable scale and speed. Removal of any manual processes within the Active Directory and cloud environments

• Take ownership of projects and enhancements, driving delivery with the broader Technology team

• Continuous Improvement – Cost Optimisation, Performance Improvement, Capacity management

• Manage the configuration and life cycle of environments, ensuring that the systems remain complaint and adhere to our security policies and industry security standards

• Ensure that platform performance is in line with requirements and have sufficient monitoring and capacity to cater for growth and future requirements

• Ensure environments are highly available, resilient (DR tests), and backed up in line with business RPO’s and RTO’s.

• Maintain hardware and software standards, asset inventories where required

• Adhere to change management processes ensuring all changes are correctly captured, understood, and communicated for any changes planned for the environment

• Act as a technical escalation point to the Support Teams as and when required

• Maintain platform service ticket queues, ensuring that SLAs are met in accordance with the agreed incident, service, and problem management processes

Responsibilities

Infrastructure and Network Development and Maintenance

Design and select storage, data center, network, and client/server environments to design solutions in line with industry best practice and provide a third-line point of escalation for appropriate global infrastructure solutions.

Continuous Improvement

Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.

Continuous Integration

Provide operational support by performing prescribed continuous integration activities (sharing, testing and building). Act sometimes as first-line supervisor. Involves using existing systems and protocols.

Faults Diagnosis and Correction

Provide fault isolation and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.

Testing Information Technology (IT) Performance

Perform website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.

Technical Developments Recommendation

Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.

Applications Software Maintenance

Monitor, identify, and correct straightforward software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.

Personal Capability Building

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

The Active Directory Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting the Active Directory environment, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) services and other relevant cloud infrastructure by taking ownership of projects, developing and maintaining technical documents and operational procedures and implementing opportunities to mature self-service and automation capabilities.
You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise, coaching and support for cloud-related initiatives.
Develops, implement and maintains network systems by monitoring, analysing, testing, troubleshooting and evaluating network and internet systems or segments of network systems.
