Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Northbrook
Supervisor: Finance Director
Schedule: Monday through Friday / 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
FLSA Classification: Full-time / Exempt / Salary
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist supports Keshet’s day-to-day receivable and billing operations, helping maintain accurate financial records while providing excellent customer service to families and community partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and post payments, tuition, donations, and program revenue accurately
- Maintain accounts receivable records and assist with collections follow-up
- Prepare bank deposits and assist with monthly reconciliations and reporting
- Support billing for programs, school districts, and state agencies
- Assist families with payment plans and financial assistance processes
- Collaborate with Finance, Development, and Program teams to ensure accurate records across systems
- Provide timely, professional, and compassionate communication with families, donors, and stakeholders
- Support audits, month-end processes, and other finance-related projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in Accounting
- Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
- Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
ANY KNOWLEDGE IN THE FOLLOWING SYSTEMS WOULD BE HELPFUL: QuickBooks, Donor Perfect Online (Fundraising), Therap (Adult program billing), ROCS (state billing system), FACTS Management (tuition collection + assistance application), CampMinder (Camp inTouch) – registration + payments

Skills Required
