Description
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing incoming customer payments, properly tracking them into the system, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Review and post payments received directly through the bank or third-party systems to the appropriate customer account, including but not limited to checks, ACH payments, wire transfers, chargebacks, etc.
- Perform periodic reconciliations to ensure that all funds received in the bank have been accurately recorded
- Collaborate with operation and administrative teams at the local branch to help resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries
- Partner with the Accounts Receivable Manager and other team members to prepare and send monthly AR aging reports to the local branch teams for review.
- Send correspondence for past-due accounts and accounts eligible for placement with third-party collections
- Assist with placing and managing eligible accounts with third-party collections, Run weekly reports to ensure that all payments and adjustments are captured
- Assist with monthly billing and invoice generation as needed
- Relays key updates and changes of information to appropriate individuals within the company
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Requires Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software (i.e. MS Excel)
- Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with both internal and external teams
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- At least two years of related experience required.
