The Role

As a detail-oriented, organized professional with a talent for building strong client relationships, you can join the team here at Hazel Health as our Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager and be at the heart of our financial operations!

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for overseeing Hazel Health’s accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments, maintaining accurate records, and managing a team of AR professionals. This role plays a critical part in maintaining cash flow and supporting financial operations. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members are crucial for success in this role at Hazel Health.

Additionally, your role may include supporting our billing team to secure real-time insurance benefits eligibility and coverage information for patients, following up on rejected/outstanding claims, and collaborating with third-party partners on data and clarification requests.  This role requires experience with eligibility and claims adjudication for multiple states’ Medicaid, Managed Medicaid and commercial plans. 

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise AR Team: Lead, mentor, and train accounts receivable staff to enhance performance and ensure accuracy in processes.
  • Manage Collections: Develop and implement effective collection strategies to reduce outstanding accounts and improve cash flow.
  • Monitor Accounts: Regularly review aging reports and account reconciliations, identifying delinquent accounts and addressing issues proactively.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable performance, including key metrics and trends.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with finance, contracting, and customer service teams.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

What Excites Us

  • 3+ years of experience with AR management 
  • Bachelor's  Degree
  • Billing and Coding certification preferred
  • 2+ years experience with insurance verification in Medicaid, Managed Medicaid and commercial payers across multiple states and navigating within these portals.
  • 3+ years experience with Change Healthcare or other online eligibility healthcare tools
  • 3+ years experience with claims adjudication/follow-up
  • 3+ years or more experience with Google Suites (google sheets, google docs)
  • Experience managing & developing a team of professionals
  • Highly detail-oriented and comfortable with insurance, claims, and other data sources
  • Ability to meet remote work expectations, including but not limited to active participation in virtual meetings and real-time communication via Slack

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, with a base salary range of $100,000 - $130,000, a 401k match, healthcare coverage, paid time off, and a broad range of other benefits and perks. Review our benefits at Hazel Health Benefits.
