Role Summary
This role leads day-to-day process and invoicing cycles and serves as a subject matter expert for the team. This role also ensures compliance and accuracy across accounts payable and receivable operations by supporting payment processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
Core Responsibilities
- Leads the invoicing cycles for assigned business lines. Acts as primary liaison with internal clients for advanced invoice inquiries, and communicates timelines and resolutions as needed.
- Performs system and peer quality audits of the invoice process for accuracy, compliance and completeness. Maintains audit metrics for the team and is responsible for reviewing with manager monthly. May complete other audits as necessary.
- Partners with the business design billing solutions for complex fee agreements and to identify and resolve related issues.
- Recommend system and process enhancements, and tests elevations as needed.
- Leads the receivable collections from aligned business lines as necessary.
- Generates and distributes management reporting according to established procedures/deadlines.
- Verifies invoices by comparing charges to purchase orders and confirming receipt of goods/services and purchase approvals.
- Processes and authorizes payments in alignment with internal controls and timelines.
- Reconciles accounts payable ledgers to validate transactions, detect discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.
- Supports accounts receivable functions including invoice generation, customer credit validation, and cash application.
- Conducts receivables aging analysis and prepares periodic reporting for outstanding balances.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable, receivable, or finance operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Good to have skills in invoice processing, payment authorization, ledger reconciliation, collections, reporting, and audit compliance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday), intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and understanding of financial controls and billing processes.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA), Certified Bookkeeper, or related financial operations credentials.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and resolve issues independently while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
