Accounts Payable Administrator

We are looking to add an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Administrator to our Finance & Accounting team. This position will work extensively with the company’s accounting and industry-specific revenue systems. The individual will be a key contributor to the AP team, processing invoices, supporting month-end AP close, SAP SF Hana / system process improvements, and other initiatives as outlined below or assigned. The ideal candidate has a keen sense of intellectual curiosity regarding the “how” and “why” certain procedures are performed and can demonstrate AP acumen and best practices. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and will be based out of our Frederick, MD Corporate Headquarters.

Essential Job Duties:

• Review and verify invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and related GL coding
• Determine accounting codes for invoice entry of non-purchase ordered items/services
• Review and verify system three-way match of invoices to purchase orders and purchased goods receipts
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Enter and post invoices for payment into SAP S4 Hana AP system
• Correspond with vendors and internal customers to respond to invoice inquiries
• Post direct debit payments from daily bank report EFT payments in the SAP S4 Hana Accounts Payable modules

Education, Experience, and Key Competencies:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a corporate accounts payable environment 
• Knowledge and experience working in SAP S4 Hana software
• Experience in advising on process improvements and best practices
• MS Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Embraces technological changes with an openness to utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity
• Reliability, honesty, integrity and effective communication skills are a must along with a sense of urgency, a strong work ethic, and a coachable, team-oriented attitude 
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment 
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize time management
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field while not required, is a plus
