Freedom Real Estate is seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist who is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations across multiple commercial real estate service lines. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with experience in MRI Software, strong organizational skills, and a service-driven mindset. The position collaborates closely with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial processing.
As an AP/AR Specialist your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
Accounts Payable
- Process, review, and code invoices in MRI Software for property management, brokerage, development, construction, and advisory operations
- Ensure proper approvals, accurate cost coding (property, job, and cost codes), and timely payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9 documentation and compliance requirements
- Assist with construction and development payables, including subcontractor invoices and draws, as applicable
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and distribute invoices for management fees, brokerage commissions, consulting services, and reimbursable expenses
- Post and apply cash receipts (checks, ACH, wires) in MRI
- Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Respond to billing inquiries and resolve issues with a strong customer-service focus
Accounting & Reporting Support
- Assist with month-end close activities related to AP and AR and bank reconciliations
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records in compliance with company policies
- Collaborate with property management, brokerage, construction, and advisory teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
- Prior experience in commercial real estate, property management, construction, or professional services preferred
- Hands-on experience with MRI Software preferred
- Working knowledge of job costing, property-level accounting, and multi-entity environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
