Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Assist in the preparation of financial and board reports

  • Maintain and manage the fixed asset register

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports including cashflow forecasts and claims costs

  • Support the year-end close process, audit preparation, and income tax return drafting

  • Prepare and submit statutory returns including BAS, IAS, FBT, payroll tax, and ABS

  • Assist the Finance Manager in reviewing and improving financial processes and internal controls

  • Ensure accurate, timely journal entries and report submissions

  • Adhere to company policies, professional conduct, and privacy standards when handling sensitive financial data

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial accounting role

  • Educational background in accounting, business, or a related field

  • High attention to accuracy and detail

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools; experience with accounting systems and databases

  • Desirable: Accounting qualifications, SUN Accounting System experience, and recruitment industry experience

  • Financial deadlines met across monthly and year-end reporting

  • Accurate and timely submission of all reconciliations and statutory returns

  • Effective process improvements implemented with Finance Manager support

  • Audit processes completed with minimal issues

  • Compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
