Location: Puyallup Tribal Health Authority | Tacoma, WA | On-Site

Schedule: Full-Time | Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hiring Range: $21.52 - $26.90 per hour

What You’ll Do:

As an Accounting Specialist, you’ll be a key player in our financial operations: 

  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely using automated accounting software and purchase requisition systems.
  • Process accounts receivable transactions and banking activities according to established procedures.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account discrepancies while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Assist employees with accounts payable and other accounting-related questions.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and maintain office supply inventories for the Accounting Department.
  • Prepare and enter general ledger transactions and assist with account reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized accounting records through filing, scanning, and document management.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties in support of the Accounting Department.
  • Complete required annual compliance and safety training.
  • Provide coverage at other health entities or complete work-related errands as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience
    OR
  • High school diploma/GED and at least 5 years of accounting-related experience

AND         

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle with current liability insurance
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Cultural sensitivity and respect for Indigenous traditions and values

Skills Required
