National Interstate is looking for an Accounting Representative to join their team. This individual will work onsite out of the Richfield, Ohio office.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Administers the accounts payable function by processing invoices, verifying accuracy, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
- Reconciles accounts payable transactions and resolves discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
- Applies working knowledge of multiple accounting systems and external platforms to process transactions, generate payment registers, and produce related reports.
- Responds to inquiries from internal and external customers regarding invoices and payment status, fostering positive relationships with vendors and internal departments.
- Ensures compliance with internal controls, company policies, and all applicable regulations.
- Assists with month‑end close activities and supports internal and external audits by providing documentation and information as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. College level coursework in Accounting preferred.
Experience: Generally, 1 to 3 years of related experience. Previous accounting support experience in the insurance industry preferred.
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Possesses advanced organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations related to insurance accounting. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates solid interpersonal and communication skills. Intermediate Microsoft Excel and experience working with multiple systems preferred.
