Accounting Manager

Position Overview
Impilo, Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to support core accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing key aspects of the month-end close process, maintaining reliable financial records, and supporting the Head of Finance in building a scalable, well-controlled accounting environment. The ideal candidate has 4–8 years of accounting experience, strong technical GAAP knowledge, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & General Accounting
- Lead critical components of the monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Reconcile all bank accounts and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Accrue monthly expenses and maintain supporting schedules.
- Book and amortize prepaid expenses.
- Record fixed asset activity and manage depreciation schedules.
- Record lease obligations and amortization of ROU assets.
- Record deferred revenue in accordance with revenue recognition policies.
- Record accrued payroll and support related reconciliations.
- Maintain schedules for prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue, and amortizations.
- Assist with reorganization and cleanup of the P&L and Balance Sheet within QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Inventory & COGS
- Reconcile inventory and COGS accounts.
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to enhance inventory tracking and cost processes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet flux analyses.
- Support preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Oversee AP/AR activities to ensure timely vendor payments and customer collections.
- Upload, code, and review Brex card transactions and employee expenses.
- Review AR weekly to identify delinquency buckets and support bad debt reserve management.
- Support spend limit configuration and expense policy compliance.
- Assist with potential migration from Brex to Ramp.
Compliance, Controls & Tax
- Support sales tax compliance and remittance.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and GAAP.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and tax filings.
Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
- Support improvements to accounting systems and processes (QBO, Brex, Ramp, Bill.com, Rippling).
- Create and maintain departmental structures in Rippling for payroll and P&L allocation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
Experience
- 4–8 years of professional accounting experience (corporate or public accounting).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
- Experience with QBO, Brex, Bill.com, Ramp, and/or Rippling preferred.
- Inventory accounting experience is a plus.
