About the team: 

The Finance Team at Crunchbase is dedicated to maintaining the company’s financial health and overseeing general accounting procedures. As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee our core accounting function and lead a small team of accounting professionals.  You will need to have a strong accounting background to ensure the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and timely reporting.  As a successful Accounting Manager, you will have technical expertise along with people leadership skills, balancing team development with operational excellence.

What you'll do: 
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead the annual financial audit process with external auditors, by accurately preparing/reviewing audit documentation and schedules, managing audit deadlines, escalating audit issues to Finance leadership.
  • Directly supervise a team to oversee their day-to-day activities and ensure alignment with company goals and standards.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accruals, etc. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, review of financials, and flux analysis.
  • Collaborate with Finance leadership & FP&A manager on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments to manage expenses, provide financial guidance, resolve issues and support business operations.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-driven tools to automate routine accounting processes (e.g., invoice processing, reconciliations, expense reporting).
What we're looking for: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or people management role. 
  • CPA license (active or in progress) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a SaaS or technology company preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • The ability to leverage AI analytics to identify anomalies, trends, or potential risks in financial data and validate outputs for accuracy.

Salary Range
$148,750$175,000 USD
