The Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations in Mexico. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with US and Mexican Financial Reporting Standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep technical accounting knowledge, and experience working in dynamic or multinational environments. Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial statements/reports in accordance with Mexican Financial Reporting Standards and corporate guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with SAT tax reporting, including IVA, ISR, DIOT, and annual declarations.
  • Coordinate and support external financial statement audits and stautoryl audits.
  • Monitor and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and support staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., payroll, HR, procurement) to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
  • Liaise with external advisors, banks, and government agencies.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Contador Público preferred).
  • 8+ years of accounting experience including working at a global public accounting firm, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • CPA certification (Contador Público Certificado).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
  • Experience in multinational companies or shared service centers is a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of NIF, SAT regulations, and general Mexican accounting and tax requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (NetSuite).
  • Advanced Excel skills, Google Workplace, and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
