Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing corporate accounting operations. This position will be responsible for supervising the current finance staff through the monthly close process and will be responsible for accurately recognizing revenue based on several key factors.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and approve accounts payable, including the supervision of the master vendor file.
- Review monthly account reconciliations and journal entries prepared by staff.
- Oversee the fixed and intangible assets accounting, including the review of the Fixed Asset and Intangible Roll Forward Schedules.
- Review payroll processing including the accuracy of payroll for reporting purposes.
- Prepare annual reconciliation workpapers and assist in the annual audit process.
- Manage staff, including professional development and team building.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders and outside consultants.
Required Knowledge, Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum four (4) years of work experience in monthly and annual close process.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; highly collaborative team approach to work
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and web-based technologies
Highly Preferred Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
- Experience with Sage Intacct Platform and development of custom reports.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and can thrive in the face of ambiguity and changing condition
- Establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with a diverse workforce.
Physical Requirements
- On occasion, the individual may be required to lift up to 25 pounds independently, anything over 25 pounds with assistance.
- Vision and hearing acuity.
- Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands type, feel or operate objects and tools to include computers and office equipment.
- Ability to sit in a stationary position for longer periods of time.
- Must have the ability to perform the essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
