The Role
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and day-to-day accounting activities for the Scales business entities. This role serves as a key leader within the Accounting & Finance team, driving accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, developing team members, and implementing process improvements that contribute to organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate financial records and reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and executive reporting.
- Manage account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, and regulatory filings.
- Present financial results and insights to leadership and support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members while supporting daily operations.
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on business initiatives, reporting needs, and continuous improvement projects.
- Contribute to strategic planning, acquisitions, and other organizational priorities.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence business decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
