General Description:

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Accounting Manager to serve as the Entity Controller for BeOne Korea. This is a highly visible and hands-on role with end-to-end responsibility for the accounting and controllership activities of the Korea legal entity.

The successful candidate will lead the month-end close process, maintain financial statement integrity, oversee statutory reporting and audit activities, and ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate accounting policies. As the key finance point of contact in Korea, this individual will partner closely with local business stakeholders and collaborate extensively with APAC and global finance teams.

This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys operating independently, taking ownership of complex accounting matters, and working in a fast-paced multinational environment. Strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance operational execution with business partnership are essential for success in this role.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Serve as the Korea Entity Controller with overall ownership of financial compliance, financial statement integrity, accounting operations and key order‑to‑cash (O2C) accounting activities.

  • Own month end close process, including but not limited to: lead the closing process/timeline, GL manual journal entry (e.g. people cost, accruals, and deferral), balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews etc.  Ensure timeliness and quality of book close.

  • Execute and support O2C accounting activities through working with APAC Accounting team, including distribution agreement review, gross‑to‑net accounting, inventory accounting, etc.

  • Monitor business developments, new transactions or models, commercial arrangements or emerging issues, proactively identify relevant accounting implications, and work with APAC accounting team for timely assessment on accounting treatment, compliant process development, as well as continuous enhancement.

  • Take ownership on statutory financial reporting, statutory audit and filing, through working with external auditors and internal cross function team (APAC accounting, FSSC, HR, Legal, Tax etc.).

  • Support other statutory or government requirements.

  • Support internal/external audit and group reporting, e.g. footnote preparation, internal/external audit requests etc.

  • Collaborate closely within cross-teams within broader finance team, such as FSSC, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, located in CN, AUS, EU, US etc.

  • Support the Tax and Treasury teams on Korea tax filings, tax audits, or Bank in person submissions etc, under the guidance of the respective functional owners. Coordination between local Korea stakeholders and Tax/treasury team as needed.  

  • Serve as finance point of contact and be a member of Korea Leadership team. Partnering closely with the local business team, having a proactive role in X-function collaboration, sharing finance insights to maintain visibility and impact, and helping with coordination across local team, APAC accounting and broader finance team.

  • Support and contribute to APAC and Global Accounting initiatives, including controls enhancement and accounting policy implementation, tech projects etc., supporting the overall growth and effectiveness of the Accounting function.

  • Other ad hoc works assigned by supervisor.

Qualification Required:

Education Required: 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Currently none.

Computer Skills:

Strong SAP knowledge required (S/4 Hana preferred), Blackline, Excel

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in similar accounting or controllership roles.

  • Experience in multinational Pharmaceutical companies is highly preferred; Big 4 experience is a plus.

  • Solid knowledge of Korea local accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations;

  • English as working language, able to attend or host English meetings.

  • Highly self‑motivated and independent, with flexibility and adaptability in a fast‑growing environment.

  • Capability of logical thinking, continuous improvement mindset, coordination, and problem-solving.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively within a hybrid and multicultural organization.

  • A strong team player with a collaborative mindset.

Travel: Minimal.
