Accounting Manager - 10 Month Maternity Leave Contract

Your Mission 

Reporting to the Controller, Nuvei-Paya, you will play an instrumental role within the North American accounting team. This position will be responsible for managing the monthly close and general ledger accounting. The Accounting Manger will be responsible for overseeing AP and GL accounting for Paya Holdings. The position requires the desire to take ownership of your work, is self-motivated and a team player.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close and general ledger accounting process
• Responsible for accounts payable, and general ledger accounting, including fixed assets, payroll, commissions and software capitalization
• Review journal entries, vendor invoices, account reconciliations and financial statements
• Support monthly and quarterly flux analysis
• Ensure proper internal controls are in place, and all transactions are recorded timely and accurately in accordance with IFRS and established internal control requirements and procedures
• Interact with the different business units and corporate departments to ensure entries are recorded properly
• Identify and lead continuous improvements projects, focused on automation around the financial close process.
• Support implementation of new ERP
• Assist in other ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications (Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA/CPA Candidate preferred
• 5+ years in accounting with corporate or mix of public and corporate experience
• NetSuite experience preferred
• Candidate should possess strong communication and analytical skills, incredible attention to detail, and the ability to contribute to the success of the business outside of the Finance & Accounting discipline
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving and process improvement;
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing, fast paced environment. Detail orientated with strong organizational skills.
• Candidate should have the desire and ability to work as a team player with urgency and aspiration for accuracy.
