ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

As an Accounting Intern, you won't just observe—you'll contribute to meaningful projects, develop professional skills, and gain hands-on experience with accounting processes, financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making. What You'll Do

Participate in Day-to-Day Accounting Operations

  • Support accounts payable activities.
  • Support accounts receivable activities.
  • Enter and maintain accounting records with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Help prepare financial transactions and ensure accurate supporting documentation.

Support Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist in preparing monthly reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends or variances.
  • Participate in budget tracking and financial planning activities.
  • Create reports that help leaders make informed business decisions.

Contribute to Meaningful Projects

  • Assist with external report (audit, 990s, etc.) preparation and compliance activities.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency.
  • Research accounting topics and present findings to the finance team.
  • Support special projects aligned with organizational priorities.

Learn from Experienced Professionals

  • Attend department meetings and planning sessions.
  • Receive mentorship and coaching from finance leaders.
  • Gain insight into strategic financial decision-making.
  • Build professional relationships through networking opportunities.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in accounting and financial management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Completion of introductory accounting coursework.
  • Experience with spreadsheets, financial analysis, or accounting software.
  • Prior leadership, volunteer, student organization, or work experience.
