We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting & Finance Specialist to maintain accurate financial records and provide financial insights that support business decisions.
This role combines hands-on accounting with financial reporting, accounts receivable, budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, financial controls, and process improvement. The successful candidate must be able to go beyond recording transactions to identify financial trends, anticipate upcoming obligations, investigate discrepancies, and provide management with timely, meaningful financial information.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, including general ledger accounts, journal entries, customer and vendor records, and supporting documentation.
- Perform bank, credit-card, and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and budget variances, highlighting significant trends and risks.
- Develop and maintain cash-flow forecasts, budgets, and schedules of anticipated financial obligations.
- Monitor upcoming payments, taxes, payroll-related obligations, renewals, and other significant expenditures.
- Review accounting processes, identify control gaps, and develop or update financial procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure transactions are properly documented, approved, and maintained in an audit-ready manner.
- Work with management, external accountants, auditors, and other financial professionals as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, strengthen controls, automate processes, and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional training in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- At least three years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies, identify financial risks, and interpret financial data.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Sound judgment when handling confidential financial information.
