Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Remote (PST/EST working hours preferred)
Role OverviewWe're seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Contractor to support our rapidly scaling FinTech operations. In this role, you'll handle essential day-to-day accounting functions while supporting our finance team with reconciliations and month-end close activities. You'll work directly with our CFO, gaining valuable exposure to the innovative intersection of traditional finance and blockchain technology.
Key Responsibilities- Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, vendor management, and payment coordination
- Perform accurate and timely data entry for financial transactions across multiple systems
- Support account reconciliations for bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions
- Prepare journal entries under guidance, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities by preparing schedules and reports
- Maintain organized documentation and records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Support audit preparation by gathering supporting documentation and responding to information requests
- Help identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
- Collaborate with team members to resolve accounting discrepancies and inquiries
- 3-5 years of accounting experience with exposure to accounts payable, data entry, and reconciliations
- Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
- Proficiency with accounting systems and financial software
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Availability to work during PST/EST business hours
- 6-month contract with option to extend
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar cloud-based ERP systems
- Background in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or FinTech industries
- Exposure to multi-currency accounting
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in financial services
- Experience supporting external audits or audit preparation
This is a fully remote position. Must be willing to work some overlap between EST. English is our global team’s common language, so strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
