The Accounting Analyst will play a critical role in Inertia’s finance operations, with a core focus on Accounts Payable, Procurement tracking, and Monthly Close activities, while also supporting broader accounting and finance operations.
This is an incredible opportunity to join Inertia at an early stage and have a meaningful impact on the company's financial infrastructure as it scales. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with experience in hardware- and laboratory-based organizations. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Livermore, CA headquarters.
Primary Responsibilities:Accounts Payable & Procurement
Own AP processes, from purchase requests and vendor onboarding through invoice processing and payment execution.
Partner with engineering, science, lab operations, and IT teams to support purchasing needs while maintaining financial controls.
Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely, accurate payments.
Help establish and refine procurement policies, approval workflows, and documentation standards.
General Accounting & Finance
Support month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
Assist with expense reporting, credit card programs, and employee reimbursements.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting activities.
Contribute to compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Cross-Functional & Operational Support
Serve as a finance partner to technical teams, providing guidance on spend management and capital purchases.
Support tracking and accounting for fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation.
Identify opportunities to improve and automate scalable finance and accounting processes.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as the company grows.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
2-5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience with demonstrated ownership of procurement and AP functions.
Experience in hardware, lab, manufacturing, R&D, or capital-intensive environments strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial controls.
Excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity and implementing new processes to drive operating clarity.

The base salary range for this role is $105,000 - $125,000; The pay range provided is an estimated base range for this role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and education.
