Job Description
Role Overview
To be located in Brookfield’s Luxembourg Office as part of the Finance team. The position will work closely with the local Legal Team and Finance Teams abroad. To be in charge of general accounting and reporting of Luxembourg based Funds and Holding Companies, including their subsidiaries holding real estate assets across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, posting and payment of supplier invoices
- Booking of quarterly intercompany transactions and other cash transactions based on bank activity
- Pro-active participation in the quarter-end and year-end closing processes
- Review the monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT returns
- Liaison with the tax authorities, tax advisors, auditors, fund administrators, depositary and other relevant stakeholders
- Participation in cash management cycle and budgeting
- Support the preparation and filing of subscription tax returns
- Assist with preparation of Fund financial statements under IFRS and statutory accounts under Lux GAAP
Technical Skills
- 1-2 years’ experience, ideally gained in a similar environment (Fiduciary, Big 4, Asset Manager, Fund administration etc.)
- Familiarity with fund operations and regulatory requirements for Luxembourg domiciled funds, including SIFs and RAIFs
- Working knowledge of Lux GAAP; IFRS knowledge is considered an advantage
- Fluent in English, any other language will be considered as an asset
- Proactive and dynamic team player with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and in an international environment
- Previous experience with Viewpoint and/or Yardi will be considered an asset
