Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with a strong understanding of United States and International accounting standards. Experience in processing monthly financial close, across multiple jurisdictions, ideally between a US parent company and Romanian and/or UK subsidiaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with a variety of accounting functions, including monthly financial close workpapers and reconciliations, accounts payable, credit card expense management, payroll, and sales tax support across regions. This role requires fluency in English, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Excel.

Pay Range: $60,000-$70,000
Work Location: This role is 100% remote. While we prefer candidates based in the below city/states, we are open to considering candidates from other locations if you feel you meet the role’s qualifications. Essential Functions:
- Financial Close: Rollforward and preparation of monthly financial reconciliations and workpapers
- Accounts Payable: Process and manage accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate recording and timely payments
- Credit Card Expense: Accurately record and categorize credit card expenses within the financial system
- Employee Reimbursement: Review employee expense reports to ensure correct GL category coding and department allocations
- Spreadsheet Maintenance: Maintain financial spreadsheets, including those for prepaid expenses, referral fees, revenue sharing, and ASC606 COGS and commission waterfalls
- Tax and Audit Support: Reconcile US sales taxes, maintain compliance with UK and Romanian VAT tax regulations, and assist with audits in the US, UK, and RO jurisdictions
- Vendor Communication: Respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally
- Data Support: providing data to support vendor price negotiations and budgeting efforts
- Payroll: Assist with payroll processes for our US, UK and RO employees
- Internal Project Support: Assist with various internal projects as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
- Ideally 4+ years of accounting experience with US GAAP and monthly close processes
- Strong knowledge of accounting practices in the US, with experience in multi-jurisdictional accounting: Ideally, with a US parent company and Romanian and/or UK subsidiaries
- Experience with US GAAP required. Experience with IFRS is preferred
- Understanding of US sales tax calculations and filing required, while Romanian and/or UK VAT regulations is preferred
- Experience with payroll processing for one or more of the US, UK, and RO regions
- Detail-oriented, strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Accountability and commitment to quality in financial record-keeping and reporting
- Proficient in Excel and able to quickly learn new accounting tools
- Fluency in English and excellent phone and email communication skills
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Avalara, Maxio, and Bill.com
