Accountant

OVERVIEW: The Accountant will prepare and assist in maintaining financial records for the MarineMax Super Yacht (SYD) Division to track the organization's assets, liabilities, and other relatedfinanceandaccountingactivities.TheTeamMemberwillalsoprocessexpensereports, assist the US Corporate Controller with the monthly financial statements and end of monthreconciliation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• MaintainsthegeneralledgerforEscrowAccounts
• Sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts and processes payments
• Reconciles bank accounts daily and monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Manage all entries in Acumatica Accounting System and consult with Corporate Controller for release of payments
• Maintains knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures
• Assists Controller with ad hoc tasks related to end-of month closing
• Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field required
• At least five years of related accounting experience required
• Experience in the yachting industry preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 with advanced Excel
• SAP, Oracle, Acumatica, or similar systems experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Work is conducted most often indoors in an air conditioned, illuminated office environment
• Utilization of standard office equipment is used in the working environment
• Light lifting, pulling, and carrying up to 25 lbs.
• Sitting for extended periods of time
