Role Overview: 

As an Accountant at Supersportbet – you will play a crucial role in ensuring that day to day operations of the business are enhanced through timeous compilation and capturing of the financial data, seamless supplier and banking functions as well as provision of support to the finance department in general. This role is an onsite role based in our Cape Town office.

What You Will Be Doing:  

Daily Responsibilities:

• Providing day-to-day support to the Finance Manager
• Maintaining a structured filing system for all documents
• Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Preparation and submission of weekly/monthly reports
• Assist in other general duties as the need arises
• Capture all deposits from various banks
• Capture all deposits and withdrawals from internal systems

Weekly Responsibilities:

• Posting of supplier invoices and payment processing, updating accounts payable and performing reconciliations
• Preparation and submission of weekly reports
• Weekly business payments from local and foreign banks

Monthly Responsibilities: 

• Review, processing and payment of monthly salaries
• Monthly reconciliation of business bank accounts
• Preparation and submission of monthly reports
• Reconciliation of staff benefits
• Compile, balance and post salary journal
• Create, maintain and post accruals
• VAT201 and EMP201 submission

What You Need for This Role:  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 4+ years' experience in a Finance/Accountant role
• Payroll experience
