The Finance Team interfaces with all of the teams at Loop to analyze and guide how we deploy our resources and capital. The team strives to make complex decisions simple and clear based on a deep understanding of our growth levers and where resource allocation can accelerate our efforts.

You’ll join Loop reporting to the Controller. You will support our core finance and accounting processes and create robust, scalable standards to support a high-growth organization. Working closely with the other business teams, your primary role will be to manage and enhance the collections and accounts receivable processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for recognizing revenue per ASC 606, financial reporting, and monitoring accounting processes to maximize efficiencies for Loop.

Right away, we’ve listed what we think you’ll be spending your time on. We’re growing fast, and growth means the challenges we’ll work on together will change as we lead Loop through new and different phases.

This is an indispensable role with us, so we’ll be looking for you to have examples of when you’ve tackled these challenges throughout your career. We’ve laid out the experience we think is important to set you up for success in this role. But, we appreciate that different humans will solve problems in different ways, so we don’t expect you to fit exactly in a box of requirements.

Loop HQ is a state-of-the-art office located in Columbus, Ohio, and more than half of our team works remotely across the United States and Canada. You can choose to join us in the Columbus office or stay fully remote in this role.

What You’ll Do:

  • Initiate and manage the collections process to ensure timely receipt of payments.
  • Monitor customer accounts, identify overdue payments, and implement effective strategies to minimize outstanding receivables.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure accurate and timely invoicing of customers.
  • Ensure revenue recognition per accounting standards under ASC606.
  • Perform timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliation schedules to support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and variances across accounts.
  • Be the primary contact for the full purchase cycle and manage procure-to-pay process.
  • Review employees’ T&E expenses for reimbursement, according to company policy.
  • Assist in defining, implementing, and improving internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to system implementation/enhancements affecting accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • You’ll support Loop’s financial audit, including responding to audit inquiries and preparation of supporting audit schedules.
  • Support business teams on ad-hoc analysis and projects

Your Experience:

  • You’ve completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; a CPA is a plus for us.
  • At least 2 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably for a software company or in a subscription business environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply U.S. GAAP standards and audit concepts and requirements.
  • We’d love to hear from you if you have experience using ERP systems (like Quickbooks or NetSuite) or other complex accounting software systems.
  • You consider yourself a Microsoft Excel specialist (v-lookups and pivot tables).
  • You have examples of how you have created exceptional partnerships with your team members, and quickly became one of their favorite people to work with because of your commitment to creatively fulfilling their needs.
  • Even the smallest of details don’t pass by you, and organization and project management are some of your superpowers.
  • You have an attitude that truly nothing is “not your job.” You are excited to act like an owner to solve problems and dig in, wherever needed.
  • You’re a problem solver that remains unshaken in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’ve made your role better than you found it by proactively creating and continuously improving expectations, processes and documentation.

In a perfect world, Loop wouldn't exist. If we had our way, we'd live in a world where we're mindful about how we consume, we love every product we own, and we share values with the brands who create them. In reality, commerce isn't perfect and often breaks. Loop creates second chances.

We're starting by revolutionizing the post-purchase experience. We've taken one of the most fragile commerce interactions - returns - and turned it into something consumers actually love, and that deepens our connection to brands and products.

We take connection seriously on the inside, too. We're building a work experience that allows you to Be A Human First and prioritizes empathy and wellbeing. We view Loop as a special place in your career to shape the future of an industry and become a better person while doing it. You can grow faster here in a shorter amount of time - we'll give you space and trust you to fill it.
