Position OverviewOur client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join their Finance Department in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting, reporting, tax, reconciliation and financial administration functions, while supporting the business with accurate and timely financial information.
- Prepare and post standard journals for monthly management accounts
- Manage foreign creditors and control import documentation
- Assist with creditors when required
- Prepare and reconcile VAT returns
- Confirm inter-company balances with other branches
- Prepare tax packs and upload them onto OneSource
- Prepare SMART packs and upload monthly financial statements onto Hyperion
- Reconcile all ledger accounts using MS Excel by the 10th working day of the new month
- Prepare monthly waste reports
- Prepare treasury schedules
- Prepare CAPEX submissions
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Upload annual budgets and quarterly forecasts onto Hyperion
- Prepare statutory notes on Hyperion
- Perform other ad hoc accounting and financial duties as required
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications & Requirements
- BCom Degree or BTech in Financial Accounting
- Completed articles
- AGA (SA) registration through SAICA would be advantageous
- CIMA qualification would be advantageous
- Strong IT and MS Excel skills would be advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines
- Commercial accounting experience
