What an Accountant will do here…
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and proper documentation
- Process payroll for employees using ADP, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance
- Monitor cash flow and prepare internal financial reports (including AR/AP tracking)
- Prepare and submit government filings and reports (e.g., GST/HST)
- Coordinate and prepare documentation for funding programs
- Track and report on grant/project expenditures to ensure compliance
- Manage company insurance policies, ensuring proper coverage and compliance
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., Sage 50) to maintain accurate financial records
- Perform other accounting-related duties as required
- Criminal background check required

- Education and/or experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage 50)
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Legal experience is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Skills Required
