Job Details

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monthly journal entries to record Retro Billing activity - included but not limited to monthly approved/denied entries for all programs, month-end accrual, month-end reversals, manual matching
  • Monthly issuing of debit and credit notes to third party customers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to Retro Program and others as assigned
  • Monitoring the financial activity between Innomar, manufacturers and third-party customers.
  • Monitoring monthly Retro Program reporting to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Partnering with Retro project team on resolving any issues with Retro Program reporting and attendance of weekly or biweekly Retro Billing project meetings - staying appraised of any changes, requests, etc. (being Finance's representative at any Retro Program meetings)
  • Maintain records of routine and complex accounting transactions, ensuring internal processes are properly documented, compliant and controlled
  • Ensure work is accurate, complete, and revenue is recognized and booked in Sage, in accordance with current revenue recognition policies and US GAAP
  • Proactively manage the relationship with Business Unit teams including being accountable for understanding Business Units processes while communicating issues to Finance Management
  • Acts as a liaison by coordinating accounting matters between divisional associates and other departmental managers.
  • Prepares trend analysis & score carding related to Retro Programs, generate ad hoc accounting reports and other special analysis on an as needed basis.
  • Actively participate in retro program process improvement initiatives within the accounting department to streamline operations. Provide solutions specific to the role on efficiencies and processes.
  • Develops and maintains documentation to support areas of responsibility
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting required
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing is preferred
  • Ability to work with multiple teams across the organization
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Prior experience with complex accounting matters preferred
  • Prior experience in SAGE is an asset
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical industry is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) to four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience

Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices and principles
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
