We are looking for an Accountant (junior - mid level) to join our Finance team at fme Group.
In this role, you will contribute to the day-to-day accounting activities supporting the international finance operations of the fme Group. You will process accounting transactions, maintain accurate financial records, support month-end closing activities, and collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries while working with standardized financial processes.
An important part of this role is supporting fme US finance operations during the transition from QuickBooks Desktop to SAP Business ByDesign. During this transition period, you will help maintain existing accounting processes in QuickBooks while gradually supporting the implementation and daily use of SAP Business ByDesign. Your work will contribute to ensuring business continuity while helping improve and standardize financial processes.

- Process supplier and customer invoices while ensuring accurate and complete financial records.
- Prepare and post accounting journal entries in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company procedures.
- Perform reconciliations of supplier, customer, bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts.
- Support month-end closing activities and recurring financial reporting.
- Verify accounting documents and supporting documentation.
- Process employee expense reports.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
- Assist with project costing, revenue recognition and project-related reporting.
- Support payroll accounting, fixed asset schedules and liquidity reporting.
- Maintain and update QuickBooks Desktop until the SAP Business ByDesign transition is completed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the fme Group.
- Maintain process documentation and identify opportunities for automation and standardization.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting and tax legislation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and ERP workflows.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- 2–3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within a medium-sized company.
- Experience with SAP Business ByDesign, SAP or another ERP system.
- Experience supporting month-end closing.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (lookups, Pivot Tables, formulas).
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within an international team.
Nice to have
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop.
- Familiarity with U.S. accounting workflows (AP, AR, reconciliations, payroll support, month-end close).
- Experience with ERP implementation or migration projects.
- Intercompany accounting experience.
- Experience documenting SOPs and finance processes.
- Exposure to U.S. sales/use tax reporting.
Language
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Experience in an international business environment.
