ELS is hiring for the position of Accountant - Membership in Plano, Texas.

What you’ll do: 

The Membership Accountant monitors the daily activities associated with a portfolio of membership accounts. 

 

Your job will include: 

  • Review membership financial statements, record journal entries, reconcile accounts and analyze variances compared to forecasts and budgets. 

  • Maintain general ledgers, analyze transactions and adjust entries as necessary. 

  • Reconcile complex bank accounts and balance sheet accounts. 

  • Examine and upload various subsystems into the general ledger. 

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual schedules to support required financial statements. 

  • Gather records for internal and external audits. 

 

Experience & skills you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting environment for a large real estate and/or property management company.  

  • Knowledge of GAAP and other sources of authoritative guidance.  

  • Excellent analytical skills and expertise in Microsoft Office and other relevant accounting software programs.  

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.  

  • Meticulous attention to detail.  

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, drive projects to completion and meet deadlines.

Skills Required
