Job Description

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Grant/Program Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions related to grants and programs, including Agency expenses charged to allocated administrative funds.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for grants and programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of grant and program accounts.
  • Track and report on grant and program expenses and ensure they are within the allocated budgets.
  • Monitor grant and program spending and assist with cost allocation in accordance with agreements.
  • Prepare invoices to bill grant sponsors (IDIS).

Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational grant policies, including adherence to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards (Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200).
  • Assist with the preparation of grant audits and ensure that all required documentation is readily available for auditors.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to grant accounting and reporting.

Grant Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of grant budgets, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Work with grant/program managers to understand grant expenditures and ensure budgets are accurately followed.
  • Provide input on funding projections and ensure funds are utilized as planned.

Reconciliation & Internal Controls

  • Ensure that all grant and program expenses are properly documented and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal controls related to grant accounting and compliance.

Other

  • Contribute to developing modifications to Accounting policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Cross train on other Accounting functions.
  • Flexibility to take on new tasks as needs change.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsBachelor of Science - Accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Other Requirements:Ability to travel occasionally for conferences.
Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
Must be a resident of Pennsylvania and able to work at the Harrisburg location a minimum of two days a week., Relevant experience (3-6 years)ExperienceRelevant experience (3-6 years)EEO Statement
